Chris Christie said Donald Trump had only one concern -- himself -- when the former New Jersey governor got sick with COVID-19.

The presumed 2024 Republican presidential challenger appeared Monday on "The View," where he described how Trump and his wife responded to his coronavirus diagnosis last October, reported Insider.

"[Melania Trump] called me every day that I was in the ICU, first thing in the morning, to see how I was doing," Christie said, "and then would call my wife after that to see if she needed anything."

That was a "real contrast" to Trump, who called him while hospitalized with his own case of COVID-19 to make sure he wouldn't be blamed for Christie's infection.

"Are you going to say you got it from me?" Trump said, according to Christie's new book.

Trump didn't seem to understand how he and Christie had become infected by the highly contagious virus.

"How do tough guys like us get this?" Trump said, according to Christie.
