Christina Bobb, an attorney for Donald Trump, insisted that the former president did "not even consider himself" and possible gains from hyping the legal charges against him. She also lamented a recent legal setback.
During an interview on Newsmax, host Michael Grimm asked Bobb how Trump kept his spirits up despite indictments and lawsuits. Bobb suggested Trump was selfless.
"His spirits could not be higher," she insisted. "He's amazing. I've never seen anyone able to ward off the attacks and the threats that he has and continue to keep going."
"As far as why he's able to do that or his thought process on that, I really think he has put himself aside in this," she continued. "I don't think he's looking at this in what can I do for me? How can I benefit from this? He is largely, I think, resigned to not even consider himself in this process."

"And he needs to keep going because we, the people, need him to keep going. And he recognizes that, and that fuels him."
Bobb also disagreed with New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron's ruling against Trump. The judge declined to delay a $355 million judgment against the former president in a fraud case.
"I believe there's been about 150 cases in the history of this statute filed where they have used it," she said. "And never once has it been used where there are no victims, no loss, and the loan was actually paid back in full early, and where the banks and insurance companies, everybody who valued the properties, testified on behalf of the defense and said, no, this was a good deal."
"The fact that they're trying to deny him an appeal is politically motivated," she added. "And so they're trying to cut him off and inflict one more blow, whether it's trying to seize his property or one more headline before it gets overturned on appeal. They're just trying to get one more chunk of flesh."
