It’s time to unmask the fraud in the Oval Office

Indictments now point to a vast criminal conspiracy involving the personal lawyer of the sitting U.S. president and *45 to rig the 2020 election. I refer to Mr. Donald J. Trump as *45 to deny the legitimacy of his holding his office. Now, judicial fact-finding strengthens the existing public record of his illegitimacy. The song ("I Fought the Law") reflects the adage that the law always wins. If it wins in this instance then we may claim that the rule of law still works. If not, then we are beyond a constitutional crisis into a plummet to tyranny.

How the ‘Citizens United’ decision paved the way for Giuliani's pals to buy influence in America

As I pointed out last week, the most powerful intervention in US politics allowing foreign influence in US elections, which contributed to Trump’s victory in 2016, was the Supreme Court’s Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission (2010) decision. Like Michaelangelo’s God creating Adam with a pointing finger, SCOTUS created out of thin air a doctrine the corporations are persons. They added to this ridiculous conclusion their previous creatio ex nihilo, the terminally stupid argument that money is speech and so money in politics can’t be regulated. The result is that corporations can now donate on their own to Super-Pacs. Since corporations are often opaque as to ownership and since foreigners can be prominent on their boards, SCOTUS has allowed foreigners to donate to and influence US elections

We’re going to impeach Trump’s sorry butt — thanks to a few brave Americans

You’ve heard the conventional wisdom from the pundits on TV, that Trump is finally going to be impeached because this time it’s easy to understand the crimes he’s accused of. That’s true as far as it goes, but the real reason we’re going to impeach his sorry ass is because a couple of people stood up and said, “That’s enough.”

Conservatives finally have a leader who lives by Ayn Rand's selfish philosophy -- and he's an embarrassing clown

When she was young, author Ayn Rand had a schoolgirl crush on a man who murdered, dismembered and disemboweled 12-year-old Marion Parker, before dumping her body on the street, after promising to return her alive to her parents. That 1927 murder was big news, especially in Los Angeles, where the crime had occurred, and it certainly got the attention of Rand, who had just moved to the city after emigrating from the Soviet Union. She immediately began work on a novel, which she called "Little Street," with a hero based on the murderer, William Hickman.

Most Americans now support impeachment -- does it matter with democracy collapsing?

On Wednesday morning, the polls showed nothing but good news for progressives. A new poll from Politico shows that fully half of all Americans surveyed believe not just that Donald Trump should be impeached, but also removed from office. These results follow a Tuesday poll from the Washington Post showing that nearly six in 10 Americans support the impeachment inquiry and that roughly half think there's enough evidence to justify removing Trump from office.
