According to MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, Donald Trump is rightfully "running scared" after being indicted on federal charges in a Florida courtroom on Tuesday with more legal woes on the horizon.
Reacting to a new Washington Post report that details former Trump chief of staff John Kelly stating Trump is "scared s--tless" about his future, the "Morning Joe" host suggested the former president is currently "whistling past the graveyard" as the threat of jail time becomes more likely.
"This is a guy who's scared, he's really scared -- he should be," Scarborough told his panel before adding, "You'd be dumb not to be scared out of your mind."
After co-host Mika Brzezinski explained that former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham backed up Kelly's assertions, Scarborough continued on about Trump's state of mind.

"But you know, again, you know Donald, like we've known Donald for a long time, pre-president," he began. "It is a lot of bravado, he plays the strong man. That's always to that degree, that's always to shield insecurities, and so now here he is. I think the general [Kelly], who obviously knows him very well too, has a read on the guy."
"And rightly, I mean, he's scared out of his mind rightly because, again, one charge sends him to jail for life," he added.
