MSNBC's Joe Scarborough called out House Republicans for doing Vladimir Putin's bidding, seemingly at the behest of Donald Trump.
House Speaker Mike Johnson doubled down on his opposition to a bipartisan Senate border deal that would include aid to Ukraine, saying he had spoken frequently with the former president on the topic, and the "Morning Joe" host said that dynamic was suspicious.
"It is fascinating, so we have comrade [Marjorie Taylor] Greene telling comrade [Mike] Johnson he's going to get booted from the politburo if he supports a bill that Republicans in the Senate are doing, which is really weird," Scarborough said. "Again, I didn't know comrade Greene was so powerful, but I guess we'll have to look exactly where their placement is on May Day on the speaker's balcony, to see who is in power, who is out of power, because, right now, it just seems as the Republicans are saying, conservative Republicans are saying in the Senate, 'This is the best border deal we have, we're never going to get a better border deal.'"

"Yet you have people who voted against Ukrainian aid to help Vladimir Putin from the start, that are killing border aid, this border bill, obviously, I think, because Ukrainian aid is in there, too, and Donald Trump wants to help Vladimir Putin – always has," Scarborough added. "He said the invasion was brilliant, said that Putin was brilliant. He's talked about ending this war in a day. Now the comrades in the House, fellow travelers in the House of Representatives, are helping comrade Putin by, again, killing Ukrainian aid and claiming it's about border security, when the Senate Republicans are calling them liars."
Co-host Mika Brzezinski agreed, saying the former president had always kowtowed to Putin.
"It's scary that Donald Trump is still so frail to Vladimir Putin, that there is some connection there," Brzezinski said. "He feels he owes him something – don't know what is going on there."
