President Donald Trump took an oddly personal swipe at MS NOW's Willie Geist in a rant against the "Morning Joe" crew.
Geist and his colleagues Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski spent Wednesday morning discussing bombshell new reporting by the New York Times' Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan on the White House "freakout" over the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, and Trump attempted to drown out their reporting with personal attacks on all three hosts.
"Joe Scarborough’s ever shrinking, low rated show, one of the most inaccurate detailers of truthful facts on television, is being crushed in the ratings," Trump posted at 6:55 a.m. "His serious case on Trump Derangement Syndrome, often referred to as TDS, has made him a laughing stock among those who know what is going on in the 'Wonderful World of Television.'"
Scarborough and Brzezinski renewed their contracts for another four years in March as their long-running program saw significant growth in the first half of this year, but they cut off the fourth hour in a long-discussed move to alleviate their workload.
"His show is being cut because his ratings are TERRIBLE, and Mike and Willie, who wants to be his father but doesn’t have the talent, are falling further and further into the TDS Swamp!" Trump raged. "They all suffer from Low Ratings Disease!!! President DJT."
Geist's father Bill Geist is a veteran TV newsman who reported for CBS Evening News, 60 Minutes II, CBS Sports and CBS Sunday Morning until his retirement in 2018.
