Writer E. Jean Carroll told a jury this week that she's been the target of threats of sexual and physical violence ever since she was defamed by Donald Trump, ABC News reported.

Carroll claims one person told her to "stick a gun in my mouth and pull the trigger" while another message said, "I hope someone really does attack, rape and murder you."

Another displayed for the jury read, "i will rape u e jean carroll."

Trump is currently on trial in New York City to determine whether he will have to pay Carroll additional damages. In a separate trial last year, a jury found him liable for sexually assaulting Carroll in the dressing room of a New York City department store in the 1990s. The jury also found that he defamed her by calling the allegations a "hoax."

The current trial involves separate comments made regarding the same sexual abuse. The judge has already fround Trump liable for defamation, and the jury is mainly determining damages.

"The body believes it's going to happen," Carroll said, describing her reaction to the threats. "It feels like it's going to happen."

Carroll said she now is on "hyper alert" since being threatened.

"I alerted the neighbors to be on the watch and I bought bullets for the gun I had inherited from my father," she said.

"Where do you keep that gun?" her attorney, Roberta Kaplan, asked.

"By my bed," Carroll responded.
