Don Lemon's career as a news show host on Twitter has ended before it even began.
Just two months after Lemon signed a deal to produce exclusive content for the platform, X CEO Elon Musk abruptly canceled the deal after Lemon conducted an interview with him that he apparently did not enjoy.
Taking to Twitter after the contract termination, the former CNN anchor laughed off Musk's decision to cancel his show given his past stance as a staunch advocate of free speech.
"Elon Musk is mad at me!" Lemon declared. "Make no mistake about this: This is going to be my first episode of the Don Lemon Show, this coming Monday, March 18th, so make sure your tune in," he wrote, saying it would now be broadcast on YouTube.
"This does not change anything about the show except for my relationship with Elon and X. And there's a whole lot that went down and I'm going to tell you about it in the coming days."

Lemon then defended his decision to sign a deal with X given Musk's stated claims that the platform is a haven of free speech.
"So speaking of free speech, I thought the first person to interview, no brainer, Elon Musk, the man who calls himself a free speech absolutist," he said.
"I asked him to do it, he willingly agreed to the interview. Throughout our conversation, I kept reiterating to him that, although it was tense at times, I thought it was good for people to see and hear our exchange and that they would learn more from our conversation, learn more about him, learn more about me."
However, it seems things did not go the way that Lemon planned.
"It appears that free speech absolutism doesn't apply when it comes to questions about him from people like me," said Lemon.
According to longtime tech journalist Kara Swisher, Musk grew angry at Lemon after being asked about his reported use of the drug ketamine.
