Georgia Republican state Sen. Colton Moore raged against his own party on Steve Bannon's show on Thursday, after they booted him out of the party caucus for his repeated demands to impeach or defund the office of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, the prosecutor charging former President Donald Trump and his associates with election racketeering.

Moore's demands ultimately aggravated Georgia Republican leadership, with both Gov. Brian Kemp and House Speaker Jon Burns saying that a retaliation against Willis would be an abuse of power.

"So what action — I wanna be very precise about this — what action did you call for that they have used against you to throw you out of the caucus?" asked Bannon. "Because it's pretty extreme, you think, to throw a sitting state senator out of a caucus in the Republican party. What did you specifically call for? And what, how did they effectuate this removal of you today?"

"You know, they said some of the comments that I've made on your show before, have, have caused threats to fellow senators," said Moore. "You know, I don't know what they define as threats. I haven't seen any evidence of anything they talk about there. Maybe their constituents calling up demanding that they do something. You know, and ultimately they were like, well, you know, you can stay in the caucus. We just need you to shut up and quit calling for the special session, quit calling out your fellow senator."

"It's very simple," Moore continued. "I am not going to regulate my freedom of speech in defense of freedom itself. I mean, that's what got us into this mess to start with, Donald Trump and others using their freedom of speech to question the integrity of an election. Now they've been taken political prisoner."

"What happened to the rule of law?" said Moore. "The rule of law is very simple. We can look at the First Amendment and see that these individuals had a right to question the integrity of the election. Now, they've been taken political prisoner and now instead of taking out the enemy, Fannie Willis, they're taking out the one senator who continues to push to defund and investigate Fannie Willis."
