MSNBC anchor Chris Jansing condemned several of President Donald Trump’s comments and offered “fact checks” during a Q&A session with Trump and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

“Yet another example of how this president essentially conducts foreign policy live on television,” Jansing said. “Though this was far more cordial than with the leaders of Ukraine and South Africa.”

Jansing pointed to several talking points Trump had, claiming the president “did make news. He said he invited China's President Xi Jinping to Washington, and Xi Jinping invited him to China.”

She also noted that Trump said, “They accepted each other's invitation. There was a phone call between the two earlier.”

“He also talked about the travel ban, his latest but unfounded criticism of Joe Biden, and Harvard,” she said as she attempted to sum up the news-filled hour of the president live on TV.

“[Trump] claimed again a few times that the 2020 election was rigged,” Jansing noted, “That, of course, is not true.”

“What's also not true?” The anchor added, “The criticism of Biden, that somehow others were running the government when he was president, and tying it to the use of the autopen.”

“Let me just fact-check that the use of the autopen is a well-established legal practice that even President Trump's Department of Justice has said is not a problem, and yet he brought it up a couple of times here,”

“Then they talked about D-Day and he said to the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, that it was not a pleasant day for you.”

Jansing then welcomed her panel to discuss the events of the press conference.

The press conference also saw Trump’s first public reaction to Elon Musk's disavowing the “big, beautiful bill.”

“I'd rather have him criticize me than the bill, because the bill is incredible.” Trump added, “It's the biggest cut in the history of our country.”

Trump said he is not sure how their relationship will be going forward and added, “I'm very disappointed with Elon.”
