It's hours before March 4 and U.S. House security officials aren't playing around as they prepare for a possible attack from militias intent on "taking control of the U.S. Capitol" to inaugurate former President Donald Trump. In an announcement Wednesday evening, the House security encouraged Capitol staff to work from home on Thursday to protect against possible attacks.

It was something that MSNBC host Rachel Maddow sounded the alarm about, not because it's frightening, though it is, but because the news comes just hours after Americans learned more facts around Jan. 6.

On CNN Wednesday, former FBI special agent Asha Rangappa suggested that former President Donald Trump deliberately held back the National Guard in the early stages of the Capitol riot in order to serve his political narrative.

According to a lawsuit filed against the city of Portland in 2016, the co-founder of Portland's Resistance, Kat Stevens, police officers responding to a protest against the inauguration of then-president Donald Trump "twisted" her head and "repeatedly struck" the side of her face and neck, "intentionally inflicting pain" while they held her down on the ground.

"This continued after an officer dragged me to an alcove, twisting my body and causing internal bruising and spraining my elbow," Stevens said in an account of the incident shared by the ACLU. "As an officer kneeled on my back, the other officers continued to press his fingers deep into my face and neck. My neck was twisted by police in unnatural ways for absolutely no reason."

A Michigan Democrat shamed his Republican colleagues for openly encouraging domestic terrorism.

State Sen. Jeremy Moss called out the GOP majority for taking up a resolution stating their support for the Second Amendment and the rest of the U.S. Constitution "against every aggression, either foreign or domestic," which the Southfield Democrat considered bitter irony.

"How do you reconcile Republican members of Congress that swore an oath to the Constitution continuing to traffic in conspiracy theories and lies about the insurrection and the very serious and persistent threat from extremist groups, rightwing extremist groups Director Wray himself laid out today?" asked anchor Anderson Cooper. "Is there precedent for this?"

Speaking Sunday evening after Trump's CPAC speech, Wolf claimed that there was intelligence warning of violence on the date, but that there weren't direct threats of an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. Wolf didn't call for Jan. 6 to be a "National Special Security Event" which would have called for specific security protections from the Secret Service.

Speaking to CNN outside of CPAC, a group of supporters for President Donald Trump disputed his fans' role during the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Donie O'Sullivan interviewed one woman who said that she believed that Trump won the 2020 election, but she wanted him to move on from his claims about it because she thought it would turn people off of supporting him.

Former President Donald Trump began his CPAC speech telling the audience that the rumors that he was starting a new party were all a lie. He asked why he would start something new when he owns the GOP.

But over an hour into his speech, Trump went off against specific Republicans he says must voted out because they oppose him.
