MSNBC’s Morning Joe busts Fox News for still pushing election fraud lies

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough burned down Fox News for continuing to push Donald Trump's lies about his election loss that led to a violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

The "Morning Joe" host called out the competition for letting hosts and guests continue pushing false claims that President Joe Biden illegitimately won the election, and said they were risking more violent actions against the new administration.

"They're the trifecta of insurrection, Donald Trump, Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz," Scarborough said.

"There have been things said on Fox News the last couple days that are shocking," he added. "I'm absolutely flabbergasted that anybody running Fox News would allow some of those statements to be said, seeming to inspire an insurrection against the United States. But we'll worry about our channel and let them worry about their channel, but, my god. My god, it's unbelievable. In this case, let's stay focused on these United States senators who committed sedition against the United States of America but for the fact that they were, you know, members of the United States Senate and probably will have immunity against charges."

The problem wasn't limited to Trump, Hawley, Cruz and Fox News personalities, Scarborough said.

"It's hard for Ted Cruz to blame this on Democrats when Mitch McConnell said the same thing on the Senate floor a couple days ago, and other Republicans have been saying the same thing," Scarborough said. "Roy Blunt said the same thing on the Senate floor earlier this week."

Their words provoked the Capitol riot, and nearly got former Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi assassinated, Scarborough said, and now GOP donors were pulling away.

"These two [Hawley and Cruz] were right in the middle of it," Scarborough said. "They know it. That's why three newspapers in their states are demanding they resign. Corporations don't want to give them a dollar. Do you want to give money to Benedict Arnold? I'm serious. Does your PAC want to give money to the modern-day equivalent of Benedict Arnold who inspired people to come trash the Capitol, seek out Mike Pence to hang him, seek out Nancy Pelosi to shoot her, and kill a Capitol cop and injure other Capitol cop and injure other Capitol cops?"
