State charges against former President Donald Trump could go forward in Georgia despite a federal indictment against him.
The Fulton County District Attorney's office said on Wednesday that it would not be deterred by Trump's potential federal trial.
"The federal indictments will not have any impact on the Fulton County election investigation," the statement said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has hinted that charges against Trump could come in August after an investigation into an effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
