Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) accused his congressional colleague Rep. George Santos (R-NY) of ripping off both him and his mother.

The Ohio Republican sent out a statement to his House GOP colleagues accusing the Santos campaign of charging credit cards belonging to him and his mother for contributions that exceeded Federal Election Commission limits, and for which they did not approve.

"Neither my Mother nor I approved these charges or were aware of them," Miller said in an email obtained by Punchbowl. "We have spent tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees in the resulting follow up."

Miller said he's seen a list of about 400 others, including some members of Congress, who had also been charged by the Santos campaign for donations they didn't approve, and he said that more than justified his expulsion.

"My personal experience related to the allegations and findings of the Ethics Committee compels me to vote for the resolution," said Miller, who exchanged angry words Thursday with Santos on the House floor.

Miller called on his fellow Republicans to vote to expel Santos, who has been indicted on 23 federal charges and excoriated by the House Ethics Committee, and said that keeping him in Congress would endanger the GOP majority by handing his seat to a Democrat in next year's election.

"The New Yorkers need him gone, and I don't know if you guys have seen this today, but that seat moved from a tossup to lean Republican, and these people are literally going to p--s away a seat," Miller said.
