A satire writer has dubbed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) one of the "dumbest people in the country" after he shared a fake story claiming singer Garth Brooks was booed by "patriots."
Christopher Blair runs the satirical website Dunning-Kruger-Times. He wrote a made-up article claiming Brooks was booed off the stage because he supports Bud Light, a recent target of conservatives.
He was overjoyed when Abbott shared the article on Twitter.
"When I saw that, I was beside myself with joy," Blair told The Guardian. "He's one of the dumbest people in the country."
Last month, Abbott deleted his tweet after sharing the satirical story.
"Go Woke. Go Broke," he wrote in the deleted tweet.
