Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) attacked new Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and others in the Republican leadership, like Rep. James Comer (R-KY), who are all being controlled by Donald Trump and an extension of his campaign for the presidency.
Speaking to MSNBC's Ayman Mohyeldin on Sunday, Garcia explained that the facts constantly thwarted the ongoing attack against Hunter Biden, the president's last living son.
"Look, James Comer is completely ineffective and completely dishonest," said Garcia. "The entire mission of the Republicans in power is all about trying to essentially get Donald Trump elected. So they'll do whatever they can to attack Joe Biden, to attack the president's family, and impeach."

Under Speaker Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) leadership, Republicans couldn't pass articles of impeachment, so they opted to claim they were opening an "impeachment inquiry," which is nothing more than the House Oversight and Reform Committee hearings that Comer has been holding for the past year.
As the election draws closer, no additional information has been discovered tying the president to anything illegal. In September, Hunter Biden sued Rudy Giuliani for "manipulation, tampering, alteration, damage and copying" of his data. Commenting on it, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) said there was evidence Giuliani had "manipulated" the laptop's hard drive. It prompted Giuliani to confess he's been thinking about going to prison for the rest of his life, something he claims is the goal of Democrats.
The plot thickened this week as Hunter Biden said he would be happy to testify to Comer's committee in the full view of the public. While Comer claimed he was eager for a public hearing, he quickly reneged, demanding it be behind closed doors. It launched a campaign of Democrats asking why Comer won't allow the public to view the hearing and alleging that he has something to hide.
Now, even Senate Republicans are bashing Comer's hidden hearings.
"They know they have no evidence against the president actually to do anything," said Garcia. "So they're going to continue to attack him, his family, and there's been zero evidence linking the president to anything and we need to get back to doing some positive stuff for the American people."
All of this is coming from Trump, he said, who says, "Well if I got impeached, then Joe Biden has got to get impeached," the congressman continued.
"We're dealing with a petulant man-child candidate for president that's running what he wants to happen through the members of the U.S. House," Garcia said. "I mean, Mike Johnson is the speaker because Donald Trump said he'd be an okay person to be Speaker. He's controlling behind the scenes what's going on at the House."
