Donald Trump started off Wednesday morning by thanking Elon Musk for his election win.
The tech mogul spent more than a quarter billion dollars on Trump's re-election campaign, and the president has credited Musk's knowledge of computers for his win in the crucial state of Pennsylvania. He took to Truth Social to give another shoutout to his so-called "first buddy."
"I thought it would be appropriate to take out my thank you TRUTH to Elon Musk after our (ALL OF US!) big Election Win," Trump posted. "Nothing has changed. Run Elon, Run! DJT."
Trump added a link in that post to another he posted Monday at 2:58 a.m. quoting former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly.
“'Donald Trump has done more in his first month than any other President in history,'" read that post. "'Who do you think was second? George Washington! It is quite amazing what Donald Trump has done.' Bill O’Reilly, No Spin News."
Musk, the world's richest man, has seen his net worth grow by an estimated $154 billion after spending $277 million on Trump's campaign, and he has been cutting thousands of government jobs through his Department of Government Efficiency — which hasn't been especially popular.

A recent poll found 52 percent disapprove of Musk shutting down federal programs that he thinks are unnecessary, compared to 26 percent who approve, and 49 percent disapprove of the job he's doing within the federal government, compared to 34 percent who approve.
Respondents were especially concerned about the access Musk's team has had to government databases, including information on Social Security, Medicare and taxes, with 63 percent saying they're worried versus 34 percent who say they're not.
