The rioter mocked for following ‘idiot’ Donald Trump to the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal charges, court records show.
Frederic Fiol — called out by a social media friend for getting “involved in this bulls---” joined the ranks of more than 700 people who have pleaded guilty to crimes threatening the peaceful transfer of power to President Joe Biden, according to federal court documents and reports.
Fiol’s signature appears on a statement of offense, filed Wednesday in Washington’s U.S. District Court, that details his trip from San Antonio to D.C. in January 2021.
According to the document, Fiol entered the Capitol building about 3:10 p.m, passing by a broken window, spent several minutes in the office of a U.S. senator and entered the building’s Crypt.
Fiol also took video of himself puffing on a “hand-rolled cigarette containing an unknown substance,” according to the statement. Later he would boast on social media, “I made history.”
Fiol would also defend himself in a Facebook conversation after his social media "friend" decried Trump as a "douche bag, psychopath," as Raw Story reported last week.
"They let people walk in and took selfies with cops," Fiol replied. "That s--- happened hours before I got there.”
Fiol then ultimately pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a restricted building and Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building, according to court records.
