Readers of the Washington Post ripped apart an op-ed written by Vice President J.D. Vance Friday morning, which praised President Donald Trump’s first 100 days.
Vance believes, “In his first term, President Trump also began the critical process of reindustrializing the American economy and rebalancing relations with our trading partners. That includes some like China, which have taken advantage of our workers for decades."
"He was elected again to finish the job, and that’s exactly what we’re doing."
To which one user replied, “I don’t believe you can 're-industrialize' by crippling the economy. Or by being out of step with the majority American workers who chooses not to work in factories or coal mines,” wrote one user.
Multiple people had thoughts about Vance’s comments on the tariffs and trade deals. “Our trade negotiations with India are hardly alone. In the weeks since Liberation Day, the Trump administration has heard from 130 different trading partners seeking negotiations, with nearly 20 already having sent written proposals,” the Vice President wrote.
“The only thing Trump has created is chaos. Working class people bear the brunt of this chaos with higher prices and taxes (tariffs),” wrote Jack Forsithe.

Sargar had several questions for the Vice President, “Yes, Trump tanked Biden's good economy; how's that working out? Alienated the world against America; how's that working out? Making China stronger and more successful; how's that working out?”
Vance claimed of Trump, “He is fighting for common-sense values, including freedom of expression and freedom of religion.”
However TOMGBY believes it not freedom Trump is fighting for, “So we are revisiting the nationalist agenda of the 1930’s with an economy based on recreating the market crash of 1929."
"Everything Trump is accomplishing is by trampling on the Constitution, the Congress, the Courts and the rights of individuals! And you praise that!? Many things that the Biden administration accomplished were to benefit people! Almost all of Trump’s actions benefit few if any beyond soothing his childish ego," they added.
Another person summed up the whole column very simply. “This is not an opinion column, it's a minion column. Minion: submissive follower or underling, often implying someone who is servile and unimportant. See also, JD Vance,” they wrote.
