‘Demon-possessed individual’: Trump loyalist drops bonkers explanation for JD Vance feud

Influential MAGA influencer Laura Loomer took to social media Saturday to dispel claims that she disliked Vice President JD Vance, explaining that her long-running feud with the vice president was only her trying to protect him from “a demon possessed individual.”

“For the record, I do not dislike Vice President Vance. I just have a really good judge of character and the demon possessed trust fund kid who lives in Maine and pals around with jihadists and calls President [Donald] Trump the anti-Christ is a threat to our Vice President,” Loomer wrote on X to her nearly 2 million followers, referencing right-wing figure Tucker Carlson.

“Tucker literally admitted he was attacked by a demon. I am trying to protect our Vice President from a demon possessed individual who wants to drag our country to hell.”

Carlson did, in fact, claim to have been "physically mauled” by a demon in a 2024 interview, an attack, he claimed, that left him “bleeding and with still-visible scars,” according to Mediaite.

Loomer has attacked Vance in the past on a range of issues, including for being “friends with degenerates,” and for compromising Republicans’ 2026 midterm prospects. Vance has also clapped back at Loomer, calling her attacks “disgraceful” earlier this year.

And yet, Loomer insisted Saturday night that she held no grudge against Vance, and actually cared deeply about him.

“I am trying to help our President and Vice President because I care about them,” Loomer wrote. “I wish people would understand.”

A self-described “proud Islamophobe,” Loomer has a long history of making overtly racist and bigoted remarks, particularly against Muslims. Despite her frequent controversial remarks, she’s continued to wield “breathtaking influence” in the Trump White House, having played an outsized role in the administration’s mass firings and immigration policies.
