Donald Trump has had nothing but praise for House Speaker "MAGA Mike Johnson" (R-LA), but that's not true of the former president's allies—the most recent being co-defendant Jeff Clark.

Clark, the former Trump admin official who was indicted alongside ex-president Trump in Georgia in connection with alleged election subversion efforts in that state, is frequently seen targeting Democrats on social media. On Saturday, however, he sidestepped the liberals to dish out some blame for the Speaker.

It started when Speaker Johnson shared a news story from a conservative site about Arizona's governor sending the National Guard to the border.

"Our border is so out of control that a Democrat Governor is sending the AZ National Guard," Johnson wrote Saturday. "It’s the federal government’s job to secure it. Why does the Biden administration refuse to take action?"

Clark replied, saying, "Yes, Mr. Speaker, this is an audible gear shift from Gov Hobbs that shows Dems are very worried about the impact of the [border crisis] on the [2024 election]."

"But there’s *a lot* of blame to go around," the Republican added. "You could have made it a condition of passing the NDAA that there be new specific border instructions to Biden to close it off like a drum, using President Trump’s policies. But you didn’t do that. Instead, the Dems got what they wanted on the NDAA and you let the House go home for the holidays."

Clark isn't the first Trump ally to go after Johnson in recent weeks. Last month, a Trump-supporting activist who has been floated as a potential press secretary if the former president gets another term, Laura Loomer, picked a fight with the new House Speaker. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia also has had some words for Johnson.
