Rep. Jim Jordan has reportedly won the House GOP's speaker nomination, after losing the vote the first time around to Rep. Steve Scalise, according to numerous inside reports.
Jordan, who was backed by former president Donald Trump, is known for his support of Trump to the extent of exchanging heated letters with those prosecuting him. Scalise initially won the House GOP nomination over Jordan, but dropped out once it became clear he couldn't clear the threshold to actually be selected.
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
The news of Jordan's victory came from Rep. Elise Stefanik.
"Congratulations Speaker-designate [Jordan]," she said.
