Fox News/screen grab
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) tweeted out an attempted pithy response to the coronavirus stimulus negotiations and was hit hard with criticism.
Senate Republicans offered less than a third of what the Biden administration says is needed to meet the nation's needs nearly a year into the pandemic, and Jordan weighed in by suggesting even that was too much.
"Paychecks are the best stimulus checks," the Ohio Republican tweeted.Jordan's remark didn't go over well.
So you're in favor of raising the minimum wage then?
Wow this is huge news

You have no plan.
Thank God we now have a President who cares enough about Americans to make sure that we can go back to work without the threat of catching a deadly virus.
Turns out, you can't just keep everything open during a pandemic.
Make work safe again first, Gym.
Idiot.

It's gerrymandering like this is why I hold you responsible for the 400,000 deaths by #COVID19.

Think this one through Jimmy. In order to get everyone back to work we need to get schools open. To do that, we need to get vaccinated. To do that, we need the states to be able to afford distribution, and we need the vaccines to do it. Until then, we need help. Keep up ok?

Countries, including most of Asia, that took the disease seriously, have been able to reopen.
The countries that express GOP-like magical thinking are faring much worse, and costing people paychecks.
Please learn from your mistakes, because we're tired of paying for them

Which is Jim's way of saying "cutting taxes for billionaires is way more important to me than putting money in the pockets of working families."

How do you think employees will get paychecks if you don't send relief checks to people during a recession to help pay for goods and services?

An adequate response is the best response to a pandemic.
You had no response.
