Donald Trump continued his assault on Judge Arthur Engoron and Attorney General Letitia James in his social media posts Thursday – though he stopped short of crossing the line set by a gag order imposed on him Tuesday which protected only the judge's staff.
But, according to one former Trump staffer, even that gag order can't stop him.
Trump has attacked special counsel Jack Smith — who's prosecuting Trump in the federal 2020 election and the classified document cases. Trump has called Smith"deranged" and a "psycho" who "looks like a crackhead."
Just a day after he told U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan he would behave appropriately, he told supporters in an all-caps post, “If you go after me, I’m coming after you!”

Then he targeted a court clerk in the ongoing New York fraud case – prompting the gag order.
Former Trump White House lawyer Jim Schultz told CNN Thursday that the attacks and the gag order are "part of the prosecution's strategies in every one of these cases, and he is giving them a ton of fodder to file the motion."
"But like, at the same time, we all know he is not going to be dialing back what he has said in the public realm. He never has. He is uncontrollable in that regard. No way the lawyers will talk him out of that. No way political advisers are going to talk him out of doing it. And if he believes it is in his interest to say it, he will say it publicly."
Axios created a list of the violent attacks Trump made in the past week, which range from saying Gen. Mark Milley should be executed to calling for police officers to shoot shoplifters.
