'What a disgrace': MAGA melts down at 'hypocrisy' of Jimmy Kimmel returning to air

News of Jimmy Kimmel's return to his late-night show launched a slew of surprised reactions from MAGA supporters Monday.

Disney reversed its decision after suspending the host "indefinitely" and pulling the show last week following remarks Kimmel made about President Donald Trump and conservative influencer Charlie Kirk's accused killer.

The move by ABC and Disney was condemned by lawmakers, free speech advocates and notable Hollywood stars in the immediate aftermath.

The company's stock dropped in the days following as calls grew to boycott ABC/Disney and Hulu after FCC Chairman's interview on a conservative podcast last week threatened to suspend Kimmel amid the ongoing pressures from conservative affiliate owners Sinclair and Nexstar.

Disney made the following statement Monday:

"Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country. It is a decision we made because we felt some of the comments were ill-timed and thus insensitive. We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday."

Social media users had a mix of reactions — and not everyone was thrilled about the late-night show host's return.

"The hypocrisy in all of this is that if Kimmel wasn’t progressive then Hollywood would not have cared or condemned the move so strongly. They only care about free speech when it goes in a progressive direction. Execs understandably caved to loss of revenue and blowback," J.R. Ross wrote on X.

"Jimmy Kimmel is going back on air tomorrow night. Is fascism over? LOL," Chris Barron, President of Right Turn Strategies, wrote on X.

"I see they're putting Jimmy Kimmel back on the day after Charlie Kirk's memorial service. What a disgrace. Shame on ABC and their parent company Disney!" Joe Ballard wrote on X.

" Trump isn’t fascisting that well. But the left would have you believe Kimmel has been thrown in prison," Liju Kurian wrote on X.

"Nope, Kimmel lied, Trump is telling the truth," Carolyn Storlie wrote on X.
