'It's childish': Multiple GOPers considering bailing Congress over House 'dysfunction'

Republican party control of the House after the 2024 election is growing more tenuous due to more "despondent" GOP lawmakers eyeing the exit after a tumultuous session highlighted by the ouster of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) by a faction led by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL).

According to a new report from Politico, multiple House GOPers have already announced they are stepping away for a variety of reasons while others are eyeing jobs outside the government or an opening in the less chaotic Senate.

Trump camp attacks Fani Willis' proposed trial date as election interference

Following Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' proposal of an August 5, 2024 trial date for former President Donald Trump's election racketeering case in Georgia, the Trump camp is coming out swinging against it.

Willis says she proposed the date as a way to avoid conflicts with other pending criminal cases against the former president, like the federal 2020 election case and the Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, which will take up a long time in the beginning of the year and in fact may be delayed even more. But Trump and his associates are claiming it's meant to disrupt the presidential election.

WASHINGTON — There may be a new speaker in the House of Representatives, but he, too, must answer to the same old boss: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

'Disoriented in a new way': Former federal prosecutor raises fresh worry about Trump

After noting that 21 states are currently in different stages of litigating whether Donald Trump can appear on ballots in 2024 as they wrestle with how to interpret the wording of the 14th Amendment, a former federal prosecutor suggested there should be additional worries over whether the former president is mentally competent to run for office.

In a column for the Washington Monthly, attorney James Zirin, a former federal prosecutor in New York's Southern District, noted Donald Trump's growing problem with facts, his confusion when giving speeches as well as pronounced slurring when speaking.
