It's time for states to remove Trump from the 2024 ballot: ethics watchdog

One key allegation against Donald Trump should prevent him from ever serving as president or any other elected office, according to a government watchdog.

The House select committee approved a criminal referral for the twice-impeached former president on four charges, including insurrection against the U.S. government, which would prohibit him from serving government office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, argued NBC News guest columnist Noah Bookbinder.

Former Trump Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is being accused – again – of lying to Congress and of breaking the law "to protect Trump's taxes" by one of the top Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee, which just won a nearly four-year fight to obtain the ex-president's returns.

Tuesday night the Committee voted to release six years of Donald Trump's taxes to the public, and while Americans are waiting for that to happen the Committee's report has revealed several bombshells about Trump's taxes, including that IRS did not perform mandatory audits of the sitting president's returns.

The dirty game Republicans are playing with desperate people's lives

Just a month ago we finished President Biden’s first midterm election and, as predictably as the sun rises in the east, right around election time and for the months afterward a wave of refugees and immigrants have shown up at our southern border.

This happens every two years when a Democratic President is in office. And finally the US news media seems to be getting a clue as to why. More about that in a moment.

Notwithstanding Fox “News” hysteria about a “caravan” of immigrants heading for the border during Obama’s last year as president, in the months leading up to the 2016 election, by that time, as Politico noted:

With Monday’s historic decision to refer former President Donald Trump and other key Republicans for criminal prosecution, the U.S. House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol placed Michigan near the center of the conspiracy to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

Before referring the former president to the Justice Department for charges, including inciting or aiding an insurrection, the bipartisan panel used its final public meeting to recap its findings of the events and people that culminated in the deadly attack on the Capitol, with particular emphasis on a White House meeting a little more than two weeks after the election in which Trump met with GOP leaders from Michigan.

'It's crazy': Morning Joe explains 'what Trump still can't come to terms with' about the 2020 election

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough explained the key failure that cost Donald Trump re-election in 2020, and why the former president still can't come to terms with that.

Trump always intended to disregard the results, but the "Morning Joe" host said his campaign was unable to overcome a superior effort by Joe Biden and the Democrats to turn out voters against the former president -- and his inability to accept that loss sent him on a crime spree that nearly ended American democracy.
