Joe Rogan is under fire for sharing a fake AI-generated video of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz during his podcast.

In the AI video Rogan shared on his Sept. 4 episode, Walz's likeness appears dancing down an escalator wearing an anti-Trump T-shirt.

"Did you see where he had a f---- Trump shirt on and he's dancing and going down an elevator?" Rogan asked his guest, comedian Tim Dillon.

"Have you seen this video?" Rogan asks.

His producer Jaime Vernon responds off-air, saying "no, it's not real."

Rogan says, "yes it is." And his producer responds again, saying, "it's AI-generated."

His producer pushes back against the claims from behind the camera, and Rogan asks him to show the video.

"No, it's real. I love that it's real," Rogan said. "It's gotta be real."

They show the video, and Rogan calls his producer "a plant," denying multiple times that the fake video is real.

After several moments of the producer explaining that it's not a real video, he even indicates that it says "AI-generated" at the top of the video.

Rogan finally stops arguing with the producer and admits it's not real — and that he got confused.

"I fell for it, too," Rogan finally admits. "And you know why I fell for it? Because I believe that he's capable of doing something dumb. He's so weird."

Users on X had a sharp response to the podcaster, criticizing him for not fact-checking whether the bogus video was real and further sharing misinformation with his followers.

"It really fascinates me how the most popular podcaster in the country is, to put it bluntly, a total moron," Sam Deutsch posted on X.

"Rogan, like much of his audience, has become part of the Gen X/boomer crowd that falls for subpar AI slop.
Joe’s only going to radicalize his fanbase further with his ignorance," Pekka Kallioniemi posted on X.

"This is incredible. That video looked like some low-grade slop made with a Canva knockoff. If you fall for it, they should revoke your driver’s license," Joel. D. Anderson wrote on X.

"10 of millions of people listen to this dude daily. We are never going to recover," Adam Chefter wrote on X.
