"The Daily Show's" Jon Stewart will make a special appearance on Thursday night, and it is expected he will address the "indefinite suspension" of ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
Deadline reported that Stewart, who typically hosts on Monday nights only, will take over for Desi Lydic, who had been hosting this week.
While neither Stewart nor "The Daily Show" mentioned why he was making the rare appearance, Deadline executive editor Dominic Patten said, "I don't think Jon's coming back to talk about the trade deal with the U.K. if you know what I mean."
