J.R. Majewski won't be ending his Ohio congressional campaign after all.

After reports earlier this week that the pro-Trump, QAnon-promoting candidate would drop out over his attack on Special Olympics athletes, Majewski put out a statement making clear he would in fact do no such thing.

"After carefully considering the pressure and attacks by the Washington Establishment Machine, my family and I have decided that there is no mission more important than continuing this race and standing strong for the patriots I committed to fight for," said Majewski, adding, "Despite these organization's vicious attempt to quite literally write my resignation, I have one very strong message: I will not cower to corruption, I will not be threatened, and I will never stop fighting for this country and the amazing people of Northwest Ohio."

Majewski actually had already moved to drop out of the race last year, citing the health of his mother, but later reversed that decision.

This latest decision to remain in the race comes after Majewski provoked outrage after he stated on a podcast, "Shout out to all the Democrats living in Mom's basement that like to talk sh-t on the Internet. You know, no matter how hard you try, arguing on the Internet, it's like being in the Special Olympics. No matter how good you perform, you still have… you're still f--king retarded at the end of the day."

Majewski also ran for Congress in 2022, but was soundly defeated by Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur after it emerged he had lied about his military service, pretending to be a combat vet when he wasn't, and concealing that he had been demoted a rank for drunk driving while stationed in Japan. He has insisted that he didn't lie and presented as evidence a medal he was awarded by the Air Force for his service, but the medal in question wasn't issued for combat.
