Former President Donald Trump apparently expressed frustration in court on Wednesday after one of his lawyers got scolded by Judge Arthur Engoron.
As reported by The Messenger's Adam Klasfeld, the former president "audibly groaned" when Engoron scolded one of his attorneys for purported "performative questioning" by reminding them that there is no jury during the current bench trial.
Shortly after this, reports Klasfeld, Trump could be heard "noisily... complaining about the judge's remarks throughout the questioning," although the reporter added that he could not hear Trump well enough to make out the nature of his complaints.
Klasfeld then speculated that it's possible that Engoron could hear Trump's complaints because "Trump's complaining in his direction."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?
Trump got stuck with a bench trial in front of Engoron, whom Trump has repeatedly attacked publicly as a "rogue" judge who should be disbarred and prosecuted, after his attorneys neglected to ask for a trial by jury.
While Engoron has mostly shrugged off Trump's attacks, the judge did issue a gag order against the former president on Tuesday after he spread an evidence-free claim that a New York law clerk in Engoron's court was Sen. Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) "girlfriend."
The post about the clerk was promptly deleted from Trump's Truth Social website shortly after Engoron issued the gag order.
