A suspicious envelope containing white powder addressed to New York Judge Arthur Engoron was intercepted at a Manhattan courthouse Wednesday, according to a report.
The powder spilled out of an envelope on Wednesday morning addressed to the judge who imposed a $454 million fraud penalty against Donald Trump, reported Law360's Frank G. Runyeon.
“Officers responded to a 911 call for a suspicious powder found at 60 Centre Street," police said. "A New York state court officer opened an envelope and white powder fell out. No injuries reported at this time and the building is not being evacuated."
Two individuals exposed to the potentially dangerous substance were isolated while the incident is investigated, but the judge was not exposed.
Also Wednesday, the former president's lawyers asked an appeals court to pause the penalty while the appeal was considered.
Engoron issued the verdict earlier this month after a civil fraud trial in a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who alleged that Trump, his company, two top executives and the former president's two adult sons routinely inflated the value of real estate assets to obtain more favorable loans.

The judge issued a summary judgment at the start of the trial finding that James had proven her allegations in evidence presented in the lawsuit, and the trial determined what penalties would be imposed.
Engoron placed the ex-president under a gag order at the start of the trial after a social media post about the judge's chief clerk drew a deluge of violent threats from apparent Trump supporters, and closing arguments were delayed after a bomb threat was called in to the courthouse.
