Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is pitching a book to publishers that promises an insider's view of her time as President Donald Trump's chief spokesperson, according to sources.
The details of the proposal are closely guarded, but sources told Page Six Hollywood that the book will offer behind-the-scenes accounts of Leavitt's stint as the youngest press secretary in White House history.
The 29-year-old Leavitt left the post in August to spend more time with her husband, Nicholas Riccio, and their children.
She is going back to MAGA Inc., the pro-Trump super PAC where she worked before joining the administration. The White House has yet to name her successor.
If her recent media appearances are any guide, Page Six noted that readers could expect candid stories about both Trump and the Washington press corps.
Appearing last week on Sean Hannity's podcast, Leavitt claimed some White House reporters privately apologized for their tough questions.
"There's been times reporters have even said to me, 'I'm sorry I had to ask that today, you know, my bosses really wanted me to ask that,'" she said.
She also described a private lunch in the U.K. where Trump tore into then-Prime Minister Keir Starmer over immigration while senior aides watched uncomfortably.
"We're sitting around the table, and we're all enjoying lunch, and we're in this beautiful place, and the president just starts ripping into him for his policies," Leavitt recalled.
She said she and White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller exchanged glances, thinking, "Oh boy, here we go."
The story drew a furious response from some on the right. Newsmax host Greg Kelly accused Leavitt of gossiping about the president's private diplomacy.
"A BREACH of Trust: The President's, and the Nation's. So IMMATURE!!!!" Kelly wrote on social media. He added that she was dishing "Without a Care In the World" in the middle of "MIDTERM MADNESS."
Trump himself, however, has been open about his disdain for Starmer, declaring in June that the British leader had "failed badly" on immigration and energy.
The White House press operation has been in upheaval since Leavitt's exit.
Trump moved to bar CNN, MS NOW and Politico from covering him, an effort a federal judge has blocked, and reports have suggested the bans would not have happened on Leavitt's watch.
