Katie Miller, wife of White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller, caught some flak on Saturday after making what some described as an "insane" one-word comment about the nation of Greenland.

Katie Miller over the weekend took to X as the world was discussing Trump's military strike leading to the capture of the leader of Venezuela, an operation dubbed illegal by numerous analysts. But instead of making a comment about Venezuela, Miller chose a controversial take on taking Greenland.

Miller's post was a simple yet heavily labeled map of Greenland, but the entire allied nation is colored in with the red, white, and blue consistent with the U.S. flag. She included a single word in the caption.

"SOON," she wrote in all caps with no other words.

That led to substantial pushback from observers.

Ex-GOP strategist Tim Miller wrote, "Insane."

Journalist John Harwood chimed in, "You people are depraved."

Progressive insider Sean Leonard said, "After today's events, we can't keep treating posts like these as posturing or propaganda."

"If Congress does not punish Trump for his imperial ambition, then they are paving the way for a strike against a founding member of NATO – likely destroying the alliance," he then added.

Harris Peskin for democracy wrote, "Take this psycho literally."

"It is your obligation as an American citizen to at a minimum, speak out against this rank imperialism," the account then added. "Meet the moment and understand that our forefathers did not fight and die for our freedom so that we could strip it away from others."

Journalist Will Fritz also weighed in, writing simply, "This is the wife of a senior Trump administration official openly calling for the annexation of a European Union member state’s territory."

Author Dave Keating said only, "From the wife of the White House Deputy Chief of Staff. Europe, don't say you weren't warned."
