Newly leaked text messages offer a rare look at how Kimberly Guilfoyle handled the collapse of her engagement to Donald Trump Jr.
Guilfoyle fired off a string of angry denials and attacks on Trump Jr.'s future wife, Bettina Anderson, after photos surfaced of the pair together, according to messages Kentucky attorney and GOP donor Eric Deters shared with the Daily Mail for a Saturday report.
Deters, who hosted Guilfoyle and Don Jr. at his annual Patriot's Day Freedom Fest, said things between them had gone cold by the September 2024 event. He claimed Don Jr. refused to sit near Guilfoyle or speak to her in the VIP tent and during car rides to and from the airport.
The relationship looked very different weeks earlier, based on the texts. On August 6, 2024, Guilfoyle texted Deters, "Hey Eric happy birthday from me and Don Jr. Hope you have a great day!!!"
Then, the day after the September festival, the Daily Mail ran photos of Don Jr. at an August brunch with Anderson, where witnesses said the two kissed. Deters checked in two days later, writing that he "could tell Saturday that you were hurting."
Guilfoyle dismissed the report as "fake news" and shot back, "I wasn't hurting."
In another undated message, she insisted she had a "f------ great time" that weekend and lashed out at Anderson, calling her a "cloud chasing horror that plays the story in the Daily Mail to get attention," though she seemed to mean "clout chasing."
A source close to Anderson and Don Jr., who married in May, called Guilfoyle "clearly delusional" and said Anderson had no role in the story.
Deters also claimed Guilfoyle had his wife secretly slip her alcohol at the festival, behaving "like a high schooler" so Don Jr. wouldn't catch her drinking. He said she also asked him to praise her in front of Don Jr. to win back his favor, and that she privately called all the Trump men “narcissistic a----.”
The leaks land as Guilfoyle, now Trump's ambassador to Greece, faces a State Department investigation into complaints about her leadership and spending. The Wall Street Journal separately reported on texts in which she asked Deters for $100,000 to cover an American Express bill.
The State Department and Guilfoyle’s lawyer did not respond to the Daily Mail’s requests for comment.
