A far-right "prophet" tied to the extremist Christian Nationalist movement, who has been backed by Vice President JD Vance, has proclaimed President Donald Trump to be a Biblical figure.
"With Trump there, which is one of those rare moments in Earth history where you have someone who's not a politician, you've almost got a prophet in office," said Lance Wallnau in a broadcast clip flagged by Right Wing Watch. "They said to him yesterday, he's hilarious. They said, when will this war in Iran be done? He goes, I don't know. Well, when will you know whatever it is you're looking for? I'll feel it in my bones."
His audience applauded.
"Folks, that's not even normal," said Wallnau. "That's why his enemies are freaking out. Trump's going to feel it in his bones? Yeah, exactly right, that's how he negotiates all these deals. It's a gut instinct. It's called his spirit man. This man is an actual Old Testament prophet king. That's what he really is."
Wallnau is a prominent figure in the New Apostolic Reformation, a fringe but influential Christian supremacist movement that demands political dominion over America and the subordination of everything, including the Constitution, to their vision of God's law.
He has supported Trump since 2015, and in 2024, Vance attended one of his town halls in the so-called "Courage Tour," while on the campaign trail. That tour, which pushed a number of conspiracy theories including denial of the 2020 election results, pushed for far-right evangelicals to organize for their vision of America.
