New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office scoffed Wednesday at former President Donald Trump’s motion to dismiss his $250 million civil court trial.

“Once again, Donald Trump is trying to dismiss the truth and the facts, but the numbers and evidence don’t lie,” a spokesperson said in a statement provided to Raw Story.

“Trump is now being held accountable for the years of fraud he committed and the incredible ways he lied to enrich himself and his family. He can keep trying to distract from his fraud, but the truth always comes out.”

This off-hand dismissal is aimed at Trump’s attempt at dismissal, which targeted Judge Arthur Engoron and the law clerk who is the subject of a gag order against the former president.

The 30-page filing submitted Wednesday morning by Trump's legal team accuses chief clerk of bias, a claim previously raised in court that Engoron dismissed as possible “misogyny” at play.

Trump has denied wrongdoing in the civil court case, which accuses him, his sons and the Trump Organization of defrauding lenders by inflating the value of company assets.

Trump and his associates have already been found liable for fraud, with the ongoing trial focused mainly on damages. He could be banned from doing business in the state of New York.
