A MAGA influencer’s coercion case involving a female supporter, Antifa, and a "peace offer" joint he claimed was laced reveals “a fresh glimpse into the sordid world of some right-wing media personalities," according to a new report.
Pro-Trump streamer Matt Tardio pleaded no contest Aug. 26 to felony coercion and misdemeanor harassment charges in Portland, according to documents obtained through open records requests by The Bulwark’s Will Sommer.
The woman told police that Tardio appeared impaired when he approached her at the October 2025 protest, according to the report.
“His eyes looked ‘crazy,’ and his skin was pale,” a police summary of her account states.
The Bulwark called the case “a fresh glimpse into the sordid world of some right-wing media personalities, who latch onto high-profile causes while building their own following — and sometimes, indulging their sexual appetites.”
Tardio, a former Green Beret with hundreds of thousands of followers, helped organize the pro-Trump demonstration outside Portland’s ICE facility, according to the report.
The woman said she attended after watching his livestreams and believed she could trust him.
Then Tardio turned the conversation toward sex and suggested they could become the movement’s “king and queen,” according to the report. When she tried to redirect him toward Trump and immigration, he reportedly began forcing her to walk toward a secluded alley.
Police said surveillance cameras at the ICE facility and a nearby Tesla dealership supported her account. Footage reportedly showed Tardio blocking her path, picking her up and carrying her back down the trail as she tried to leave.
The woman eventually escaped and reported the encounter days later. But Tardio offered a strange explanation for the episode when questioned by detectives.
He told them he became “deathly ill” after taking part in a supposed “peace offer” involving a joint with Antifa activists and suggested someone might have laced it, The Bulwark reported.
Under the plea agreement, the felony charge can be dropped if he completes probation successfully. He must also pay the woman $10,000.
