Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) went into damage control mode after a reporter asked her about her split with President Donald Trump over his decision to bomb Iran.
After accusing Trump of a "bait and switch" for going against his campaign promises, Greene faced questions from a reporter about the split. The lawmaker shared a video of the interaction on X.
"I just ripped a reporter for his attempt to smear me, lie about me, and push a fake narrative that I don't support President Trump," she wrote on Monday.
"It feels like over the past couple weeks you've shown a willingness to break with him, and I'm wondering just what's behind that?" the reporter could be heard asking in the video.
"I'm, I have always been President Trump's most outspoken ally," Greene insisted. "And nothing has changed now. I think that it's really important. I can't underscore that enough."
"So I just want you to know how I am perceiving your interview here is more of an attack piece on me and I don't know who is putting you up to it and I don't know why you're writing it but I think it's absolute bulls— and I'm going to completely reject it," she added. "I fully support President Trump, but I'm also my own person with my own opinion, and I can speak out and say I am against being involved in foreign wars."
"That is what I campaigned on, just like President Trump... So there's nothing wrong with me saying that I'm against this."
Greene became angrier as the call continued.
"There's nothing wrong with having a differing difference of opinions," she remarked. "I don't have to answer any more of your questions because I am sick and tired of your narrative and I'm calling it out as complete and total bullsh—."
With that, she abruptly ended the interview.
