A former Republican candidate for Senate has determined that his one-time party is a lost cause that deserves to be demolished.

In an interview with the New York Times, former Washington State Republican party chairman Chris Vance said that he's been watching in horror as the GOP has been overtaken by crackpot conspiracy theorists being promoted by former President Donald Trump, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

While GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia faced widespread criticism even before entering Congress this year for supporting conspiracy theories and expressing racist views, in light of reporting this week that she showed support on Facebook for executing prominent Democrats, two House freshmen are demanding her resignation.Reps. Nikema Williams (D-Ga.) and Sara Jacobs (D-Calif.) announced Friday that they will introduce a resolution next week to formally censure Greene and call for her resignation over the CNN report, which revealed that before taking office, Greene endorsed killing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), former President Barack Obama, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

In response to the reporting, Greene posted a long statement to Twitter, which said in part: "Over the years, I've had teams of people manage my pages. Many posts have been liked. Many posts have been shared. Some did not represent my views. Especially the ones that CNN is about to spread across the internet."

Appearing on MSNBC on Sunday afternoon, the mother of one of the victims of the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, that left 17 dead and 17 injured, said she had a private Zoom call with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) in an effort to get the lawmaker to recant her accusations that the Florida shooting and the Sandy Hook shooting that left 27 dead were "false flag operations."

According to Linda Beigel Schulman, whose 35-year-old son Scott Beigel was a geography teacher at the high school and was credited with saving the lives of students, she spoke with the Republican lawmaker to ask about her comments saying the shootings were faked.

Beigel Schulman stunned host Alex Witt with her admission that the two had spoken.

MSNBC host Jonathan Capehart and former Republican National Committee head Michael Steele ganged up on now-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Sunday morning for "disappearing" from public view as Donald Trump's impeachment trial nears and the GOP is being put on the spot over the antics of controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

As Capehart put it, "You know, I mean, I've taken to calling House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy like the human weather vane -- one minute he's holding President Trump accountable, the next he's standing in the gilded gold at Mar-a-Lago and putting out a tweet that is just politically obscene. And then on the other side of the Capitol complex, in the Senate, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has gone -- he's missing. where's his voice?"

"Where is he, Steele?" the MSNBC host prompted.

"Probably having, you know, quiet time somewhere," Steele quipped. "I mean, he's done his piece. He's done his piece. He said, 'okay, y'all can do something with the impeachment if you want. Oh, no, no, we're going to vote against this because it's unconstitutional.' He's gone back and forth, which is what he's always done."

"What he's trying to do is hold as much ground as he can hold," the former Republican official elaborated. "For McConnell, it's about a position of power in the Senate and how he figures out how to hold those grounds to serve his caucus. He's not interested in anything related to Trump. He's not going to bring pressure on McCarthy or anyone else to do the right thing. You'll see that play out when this impeachment trial gets underway."

Conservative pundit Jonah Goldberg threw a wrench into the works at Fox News on Sunday after he accused network hosts of lying about the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.

Fox News host Howard Kurtz began the segment by asserting that liberals are engaging in "cancel culture" in an effort to silence conservatives.

Sitting in on a panel of Republicans and ex-Republicans on MSNBC's "The Sunday Show," former Rep. Susan Molinari (R-NY) said she no longer recognizes the party she still belongs to after three terms in Congress and predicted the GOP is on the verge of becoming a non-entity.

Speaking with host Jonathan Capehart, Molinari expressed disgust at the antics of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and said the GOP leadership is at fault for not booting her or attempting to rein her in.

"I share [ex-RNC head] Michael Steele's disappointment and concern," she began. "I think actually the Republican Party can become the fringe party, the party that we won't recognize in the next three or four years unless some aggressive leadership steps forward. I think it's that serious."

"It's not just Marjorie Taylor Greene," she added. "It's serious. How [House Minority] Leader Kevin McCarthy deals with this will tell us a lot. When we look at the GOP in Arizona, a GOP legislator who just introduced a piece of legislation saying they should be able to overturn electoral results by the legislature. Saying what happened in the Capitol was not really happening. When we look at what's happening in the South Carolina GOP wants to censure -- it's not just Marjorie Taylor Greene, it's a disease flowing through the Republican Party."

"Now, I'm not going to leave the party yet because I want to stand up as long as Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney, Adam Kinzinger are being brave," she continued. "Me sitting in my living room feels like I owe them time to see that they can re-establish this Republican Party and back them up in any way that I can."

"I'm not sure, and I never thought I would say this, I'm not sure the Republican Party as we know it will be around in a few years," she conceded.

Appearing on MSNBC's " The Sunday Show" with host Jonathan Capehart, David Hogg -- a survivor of the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida that left 17 dead and 17 injured -- expressed his disgust with Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for handling controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene with kid gloves after she threatened her colleagues.

After showing a clip of the now-congresswoman stalking Hogg in Washington D.C. before she ran for office, the MSNBC host asked Hogg what he thinks of her now being a member of the House.

"You are a survivor of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School," Capehart began. "You've been a passionate and forceful spokesperson and advocate for yourself, your classmates, your generation. Personally speaking, it's an honor to meet you and to talk to you. We've seen the video of Marjorie Taylor Greene before she became a member of Congress stalking you as you were making your way around the Capitol Hill complex. Was that the one and only time you had encountered her before she became a member of Congress?"

"I'm not sure'" Hogg replied. "I believe there may have been other times, for example, a time in Georgia. I don't know if it was her or possibly Lauren [Boebert]-- Marge's evil twin as I'll call them -- the other person that's been elected to Congress that threw a hissy fit about us being able to bring a gun into the Capitol."

Hogg added that he thinks Taylor Greene is a "conspiratorial anti-Semite."

"Now that she's a member of Congress, one, I just want to get your overall reaction from you," the MSNBC host asked. "Seeing the video being aired, what that does to you, what that means to you in terms of being a survivor and then what it says about where Congress is and where our country is just in terms of tone and tenor, but also in terms of doing something about mass shootings in this country."


"It's horrifying" his guest replied. "It's absolutely horrifying that, one, that she's on the Education Committee, that she's been rewarded for her behavior by Minority Leader McCarthy. It also says a lot about where our country is. We have a sitting congresswoman who has threatened to assassinate Speaker Nancy Pelosi. I can't name another job -- any job where someone would still either get hired or still have their job after threatening to assassinate their boss and having the gun to do it and then demanding they be allowed to bring in the gun into Congress."

"What really concerns me, Jonathan, is that in the United States there is a history of elected officials murdering other elected officials and assassinating them," he added. "It's not like there's no precedent here, this has happened before. Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy needs to act before something horrible happens. She's threatened to assassinate lawmakers and has the gun to do it. We need Kevin McCarthy to act before it's too late. It's just truly horrifying."

Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) was confronted by ABC News host Martha Raddatz on Sunday after he defended Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-GA) right to hold QAnon conspiracy theories.

During an interview on ABC's This Week, Raddatz told Hutchinson that his party seems to have already "forgotten" the deadly siege on the U.S. Capitol that was incited by former President Donald Trump.

Appearing on CNN on Sunday morning, a GOP consultant and adviser to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) claimed the Republican Party needs to sideline Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R -GA) immediately before she becomes the face of the party and causes irreparable damage.

Speaking with host Abby Phillip, Scott Jennings said he didn't want to see Greene expelled -- saying that is the job of the voters -- but Republicans need to make sure she is weakened to the point where she is of no value to her constituents.

"I actually don't think she should be expelled because I think voters should decide who represents them, but I think voters need all the information and I think the Republican Party, however, can decide who is allowed to carry its banner," Jennings explained. "I think the party and Kevin McCarthy ought to strip her of her committees, I think they ought to say we are not associated with this person."

"She can be a congressperson but it would become immediately apparent to the people in Georgia that they've got the weakest and most useless congressperson up there because she is not allowed to be associated with one of the two major parties," he added.

Demands that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene be expelled from the House of Representatives or at least removed from her committee assignments are growing, with pressure coming from Democratic lawmakers as well as progressive activists who say the Georgia Republican's "dangerous ideas have no place in Congress."

In a short period of time, Greene has become notorious for, among other things: perpetuating former President Donald Trump's baseless claims about voter fraud in the 2020 election, which culminated in the deadly insurrection at the U.S. capitol on January 6; callously lying about a number of mass shootings as well as harassing David Hogg, a student who survived the Parkland massacre; spreading racist, Islamophobic, and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, including one suggesting that a "Jewish space laser" is to blame for a 2018 wildfire in California; and expressing support for the execution of prominent Democrats.

Greene's outburst occurred against a backdrop of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) facing increasing pressure to take action against Greene. Earlier on Saturday night, Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office trolled McCarthy for being QAnon while basting Greene for racism and 9/11 trutherism.
