Amid a bombshell report outing North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson for espousing pro-Nazi and pro-slavery positions on internet message board posts, the state Republican Party is standing by him — accepting his denials verbatim and proclaiming voters will not care about the issue.
"Mark Robinson has categorically denied the allegations made by CNN but that won't stop the Left from trying to demonize him via personal attacks," the party said in a statement.
The state GOP then pivoted to attacking Democrats, saying the "Left needs this election to be a personality contest, not a policy contest," because if voters focus on policy, republicans will win.
"Democrats have no answers on the record-setting inflation and the open-border policies that have both defined VP [Kamala] Harris' tenure in the White House and have decimated family budgets across North Carolina," the party said, asserting that voters care more about how well off they are compared to 2020 compared to attempts to "smear" Robinson.

"The answer is overwhelmingly no and that's why Republicans will win on November 5th," the statement said.
The CNN report revealed that, prior to his entrance into politics, Robinson described himself on the pornographic message board Nude Africa as a "Black Nazi," openly longed for the return of slavery so that he could own a few people himself, and boasted about cheating on his wife and consuming transgender pornography.
He denied the report and has said he was framed by artificial intelligence.
Even prior to this report, Robinson, who is competing for the governor's mansion against Democratic state Attorney General Josh Stein, was known for a long track record of extremist comments, including that Beyonce is "Satanic," that America might be ruled by lizard people, and a series of comments downplaying the Holocaust.
