A Mexican Navy ship smashed into the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday night — and MAGA world descended into a race-tinged joke fest.
The crash killed two crew members, injured many more and damaged the iconic New York City landmark as the sailing ship's tall masts smashed against it.
The incident sparked horror among thousands in the city who saw it unfold.
But in the annals of right-wing social media, the reaction was much different.
“In an absolutely stunning modern metaphor a ship blaring Mexican music and flying a massive Mexican flag just got destroyed by the Brooklyn bridge,” wrote right-wing commentator Benny Johnson. The comments were first reported by The Daily Beast.
“Can’t make it up,” he added.
Trump ally and self-proclaimed Islamaphobe Laura Loomer commented, “They sent their tired, their poor, and their huddled masts.”
Accompanied by laughing emojis, an X user called “Republican mother” Brittany Rae wrote, “Tom Homan: ‘this is an act of war,” the Beast reported.
Their reactions left others sick.
“Nothing like making a joke when dozens of sailors are dangling from the masts you moron,” wrote one in reaction to Johnson’s tweet.
Democratic influencer Harry Sisson added, “Trump and Sean Duffy are going to attempt to blame the ship that crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge on Biden and Buttigieg. Calling it right now.”
