New allegations surrounding National Security Adviser Mike Waltz’s security procedures could spell trouble for the Trump administration officials who are still dealing with the aftermath of Signalgate.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Waltz and his staff used private Google email accounts for official government business. The new revelations followed last week’s bombshell report that Waltz invited a reporter to join an unsecured Signal chat where top administration officials openly discussed a military strike on Yemen.
NBC News political correspondent Jonathan Allen said Waltz could be getting close “to a strikeout.”

“Potentially it's, you know, career fatal for Mike Waltz in the Trump administration,” Allen said Tuesday on CNN. While Allen made clear he was “not jumping to that conclusion” just yet, he added: “If people who are working for him continue to have this problem, I think it's hard for him to survive.”
“I think that Signalgate was basically two strikes on Mike Waltz, you know, in terms of getting close to a strikeout, but let's see,” Allen said. “We need to find out more information. It may be that all the things in the story are true, and also they are not as bad as they sound.”
“Or maybe that it's just as bad as it sounds,” he added.
