Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker painted a wide brush of the 2023 GOP candidates vying to challenge President Joe Biden for the White House next November by lifting the veil of their MAGA agenda no matter what they wear.
“They may try to to dress it up in different ways — in boots or in high heels or a red tie — but it’s all the same,” he said to reporters on Tuesday, according to NBC News' Sarah Dean's tweet.
The fashion policing rhetoric a day before the curtain will raise for the for the third Republican presidential primary debate held at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami.
Pritzker was making a not-so-subtle jab at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who has been facing some flak for inserting lifts into his cowboy boots increase his height.
DeSantis is expected to engage in crossfire with four other candidates — former South Carolina Gov. and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie —while the front-running former President Donald Trump will be a no-show.
Instead, Trump announced he'd be holding a rally about 12 miles away at Ted Hendricks Stadium in Hialeah, Florida.
