
Republicans who sided with Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) in the recent effort to oust him as speaker are focusing part of their anger on Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) after she joined the group of Republican hardliners who opposed him. According to Politico, that decision is now "clouding" her political future.
“It’s disgraceful,” said Rep. Steve Womack (R-AR). “If the purpose is because it’s going to help me build my brand and gonna bring a little bit more money to my campaign, then I think you need to question why you’re here.”
According to Politico's report, "revenge is on the menu" for some segments of the GOP in regards to Mace.

"House Republicans are now weighing whether to expel Mace from at least two centrist-leaning groups she belonged to, as Politico first reported. Her staff was quickly removed from several internal GOP communications channels shortly after her vote Tuesday."
There are already two Democratic challengers in a contentious upcoming reelection race, and it's not known how strongly her party will financially support her campaign, Politico wrote.

“I’m not sure what the fallout will be. She has no coalition of support,” one House GOP lawmaker told Politico. “I can’t stop her from going on the Sunday shows. But inside the conference, she is a running joke.”
