Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) on Saturday told CNN's Jim Acosta that his fellow conservative lawmakers are not delivering on their campaign promises.

Burchett, who explicitly compared House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to TV mob boss Tony Soprano earlier this month, appeared on CNN Newsroom with Jim Acosta, where he was asked if his frustration about the recent continuing resolution vote extended to his own party.

"Isn't it on House Republicans? You're the party in charge," Acosta said. "Are you essentially pointing the finger at your own party in the House?"

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

Burchett replied:

"I'm pointing the finger at everybody and we are right there, yes. We ran on this, this is what we promised the American public, and we are not delivering. We need come up Monday morning and start working."

He added that "we're not fooling anybody."

Acosta then asked, "When you come back next week, is Kevin McCarthy's job safe?"

"You'll have to talk to Matt Gaetz and Matt honestly is concerned about -- is concerned about his district, keeping this government open as I am, and doing his job. That's why he voted and I voted consistently with the taxpayers of the country, both Democrats and Republicans. You may hate him, but he makes a lot of dad gum sense."
