The Infowars host who tried to fight his two-month Jan. 6 riots sentence forgot one important thing: he waived his right to appeal when he pleaded guilty.
That’s the message from a three-panel appeals court that Thursday denied Alex Jones associate Owen Shroyer’s challenge to his 60-day sentence, court records show.
“Appellant does not argue that his appeal waiver was not knowing, intelligent, and voluntary, and he has not shown that the waiver is otherwise unenforceable,” the ruling reads. “Consequently, this court will enforce the appeal waiver and dismiss this appeal.”

Politico’s Kyle Cheney, first to spot the D.C. Circuit Appeals court filing, notes Shroyer had painted the appeal as a “fight for free speech.”
This fight occurred only after Shroyer admitted in September to his role on the U.S. Capitol attack.
While Shroyer did not enter the Capitol or commit any acts of violence, he faced criminal charges because he had previously signed a deferred prosecution agreement over an interrupted congressional hearing in 2019, NBC reported at the time.
Despite promising not to utter “loud, threatening, or abusive language,” on Capitol grounds, Shroyer brought a bullhorn to the Capitol on Jan. 6 and chanted “Death to tyrants,” according to the report.
