Controversial first-term Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) lashed out at Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Monday, and trashed the very idea of paid medical leave.
Buttigieg, and his husband Chasten, announced they had adopted Penelope Rose and Joseph August Buttigieg and went on paternity leave.
"Mayor Pete was on a two-month maternity — paternity, whatever the heck you want to call it — leave. The guy was gone," Boebert claimed. "The guy was not working, because why? He was trying to figure out how to chest feed."
Despite Bobert's claims that he had disappeared for two months, Sec. Buttigieg told MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace he has "been available 24/7 on issues that can't wait."
Boebert went on to boast of her own prowess in delivering children in challenging circumstances.
"I delivered one of my children in the front seat of my truck," Boebert said. "Because, as a mom of four, we got things to do. Ain't nobody got time for two and a half months of maternity leave. We have a world to save, here," Boebert argued.
