Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt why Republicans were so upset by President Volodymyr Zelensky's choice of Oval Office attire when Elon Musk "never wears a suit" in the White House.
Doocy posed the question during Wednesday's White House press briefing.
"We know that some officials here were miffed that Zelensky showed up last week without a suit for his meeting in the Oval Office," Doocy pointed out. "But Elon Musk never wears a suit."
"He did last night," Leavitt said, referring to President Donald Trump's address to a joint session of Congress.
"So what is the dress code?" Doocy pressed.
"Well, Elon Musk wore a suit last night," Leavitt repeated. "I'm sure you saw it."
"Was he spooked by Zelensky getting kicked out [of the White House]?" Doocy wondered.

"No, I don't think so," Leavitt opined. "I'm just pointing out that he did wear a suit last night. And I think the president liked that very much, and he looked great."
