WATCH: Mother of police shooting victim breaks down after seeing son’s final moments for first time

The mother of police shooting victim Christian Hall broke down in tears after watching her son's final moments for the first time on Saturday afternoon during an appearance on MSNBC.

Christian Hall, a 19-year-old Chinese-American, had his hands in the air when he was fatally shot by Pennsylvania State Police last year, NBC News reported this week.

Authorities initially alleged that Hall pointed a gun at police, calling his death "suicide by cop." When the district attorney first released video of the incident, Hall's final moments were blurred out.

But a new video uncovered this week shows that Hall kept his hands above his head for 14 seconds before crumpling to the ground after being shot. The object in his hand turned out to be a pellet gun.

Hall's parents, who have filed a lawsuit over his death, appeared on MSNBC on Saturday to discuss the case.

After the new video was played at the beginning of the segment, Hall's father, Gareth, said, "Having to watch that just now was a bit much."

"I haven't watched that video, and I don't want to see my son's last moments," Fe Hall said, choking back tears.
